Moms are the real superheroes of the world. When most people are out enjoying the last few weeks of summer, they’re busy getting the kids ready for school! Running around, trying to round up the last of the colored pencils and school supplies… and then the REAL fun begins: getting the family ready for school every morning.
Every mom deserves a pat on the back for the amazing job they do. Last month we shared our video in the post, Super Moms Need Super Nutrition. This month we’re sharing a few ideas for moms who want to stay healthy during this hectic time.
Stay Away From Sugar
Although it might seem like all your hard work warrants a sugary treat, sugar depletes your body of important nutrients that make you feel good and actually provide stress relief. And while a sugary treat is okay once in a while, the best way to stay away from sugar is to eat clean (fruits and veggies!) And stay away from sugar hiding in unassuming foods (like breads, salad dressings and soups)
Instead of treating yourself to sugar and cocktails, treat yourself to some alone time! Whether it’s just 15-20 minutes on an average day while the kids watch an educational TV show, or a spa weekend where the hubby takes over the reigns for a few days, your mind & body will thank you.
Mild dehydration can affect your body even before you know you’re thirsty, and may leave you with headaches, fatigue, and lack of energy. If you start your day off with a Vitamin Dose every morning and continue with water throughout the rest of the day, you’ll have everything you need to stay focused!
Dress to Impress
Some will say that if you look good you feel good. If you feel crummy in baggy sweats or dirty tees, then throw on a sun dress or a great pair of jeans and boots. For many of us, this is the confidence boost we need!
Get 8 Hours of Sleep
No negotiations. Getting the kids to sleep early is no easy feat, but once they are in bed it’s a lot easier to unwind. Reading a good book and unplugging is the best way to get to bed at an early hour.
